Milestone as Ndanai Sub County Hospital performs its first Caesarean Section Operation

Doctors at Ndanai Sub-County Hospital, Sotik performed a successful Caesarian Section operation on Wednesday 22nd May, 2019 after the hospital got a fully equipped theater and additional medical staff.
“This is a major stride in efforts to improve access to healthcare in Bomet County as envisioned in Her Excellency, Dr Joyce Laboso’s manifesto. Similar services are expected to be done in Kapkoros, Sigor, Irwaga and Tegat sub county hospitals. Subsequently, Longisa County Referral Hospital will be decongested in terms of patients requiring surgical services” Health CECM Dr Joseph Sitonik said.
This is the second successful surgical birth in a sub county hospital after a similar operation was done in Cheptalal Sub County Hospital on 11th July, 2018 by a medical team led by Dr Robert Lang’at.
The proud parents of the beautiful bouncing baby Blessings Moraa expressed their joy and thanked Dr Joyce Laboso’s government for the stride it has made in improving access to maternal healthcare.
Dr Eric Kibet who led the medical team during the operation, said that the newly equipped theatre and the additional medical staff recruited by the county government of Bomet will reduce maternal deaths and cut the costs of seeking the services in distant hospitals.
