Bomet Governor Dr. Hillary Barchok on 19th August 2019 challenged all County staff to serve Bomet residents with dedication and commitment during a breakfast meeting at the Centre for Devolved Governance (CDG) Bomet.

Addressing the staff during the breakfast meeting, Dr Barchok emphasized on the need to focus on service delivery to the people, adding that laxity in workplace will not be entertained.

“Servant leadership is at the heart of Public Service and it is my desire that we entrench this practice whenever we are serving the public.” Dr Barchok said

The meeting, that brought together over 1000 employees of the county government from all the 25 wards, sought to reflect on individual and departmental performance and take stock of the progress of government programmes and projects.

Dr. Barchok called for observance of high standards of integrity and accountability at the same time declaring zero tolerance on corruption adding that any individual found culpable of the vice will be held to account.

“Let the spirit of good governance, accountability and transparency be entrenched in your work stations,” said Dr. Barchok.

He also reiterated that he is committed to securing the late governor Dr. Joyce Laboso’s legacy and will also work hard to secure his own.

The Governor, also warned that he will be making impromptu visits to the various departments to check on the service provision to the wananchi adding that every staff should adhere to professional code of ethics.

Dr. Barchok urged the staff to embrace routine prayers in their respective departments to seek God’s guidance as they discharge their duties.

On the other hand, the Governor encouraged the members of public to channel their suggestions, complaints and compliments through the County Ombudsman’s office.
