Bomet Town To Get a New Level 4 Hospital

Bomet County Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok has, this morning, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new level 4 inpatient Hospital in Bomet town.

The facility, that will be constructed within Bomet Health Centre, will greatly reduce the reliance of Bomet town residents on Longisa County Referral Hospital, which is 15KM away from the town.

The new project adds on to the various facilities currently being done across the county by the department of Health, some of which are already complete and awaiting official opening in the near future.

“The health of our people is a priority to us as a county administration and we will go out of our way to ensure that we deliver the best medical services to the residents of Bomet”, Said the governor.

The new facility will offer a raft of medical services including diagnostic services, specialist doctors clinics, general medical clinics, among others.

Other than the new project meant for the residents of Bomet town, the department has already completed new inpatient facilities in Ndanai and Kapkoros Sub County Hospital. The two have already opened its doors to patients seeking treatment in the facilities, some of whom include the victims of an accident that happened during the recent campaigns in Emurrua Dikir, Narok County.

The department is also currently equipping the new Dr. Joyce Laboso Mother-and-child hospital whose construction was completed a few months ago. The facility is set to be commussioned by President William Ruto in the near future.

“We have already put out an advertisement for medics across the various cadres to ensure that these facilities have enough personnel once they are commissioned”, Added the governor.

The function was also attended by Deputy Governor Shadrack Rotich, CECMs, COs, MCAs, among others.
