Health CS Aden Duale has, for the better of the day, led a delegation from the Social Health Authority, (SHA), in visiting Bomet County for a high-level engagement with the County Administration and the key players in the health sector with a view to strenghtening the delivery of healthcare to the people of Bomet County.
In the company of Bomet Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok, the CS chaired a strategic meeting with health facility in-charges, private hospitals contracted by SHA, KUPPET and KNUT leadership at the county with a view to strenghtening frontline service delivery under SHA.
Addressing the gathering, CS Duale expressed his satisfaction with the SHA roll-out in Bomet, thanking the county leadership while promising to support the county administration in the provision of healthcare in Bomet county.
“The Kenya Kwanza government under the stewardship of President William Ruto is firmly on course to achieve its Universal Health Coverage agenda under the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda, (BETA) ensuring that every Kenyan accesses quality and affordable healthcare services”, Said the CS.
On his part, governor Barchok said that his administration will spare no effort in addressing the heathcare needs of the people, adding that Bomet County is ranked the second best in SHA registration, after Mombasa County.
The engagement, guided by a data-driven performance briefing showed that 152 health facilities, representing 94% of all the facilities in Bomet county were already on-boarded in the Digital Health Systems with over 610,000 residents registered under SHA.
The CS also launched Taifa-Care, a digital platform that seeks to digitize all health operations across the country. To achieve this goal, the ministry of health has delivered 181 laptops for all health facilities in Bomet.
CS Duale later visited AGC Tenwek Hospital where he presided over the dedication and commissioning of a cathlab, at the facility. From there the CS made his way to Longisa County Referral Hospital where he commissioned a state-of-the-art CT scan and a platelet separator.
