Japanese Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call On Governor Barchok

The Japanese Ambassador to Kenya HE Hiroshima Matsuura has, this morning, paid a courtesy visit to Bomet County Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok at his office, where they held talks on various issues between Japan and Bomet.

The two leaders acknowledged the fact that Kenya and Japan share a longstanding and deeply valued bilateral relationship, with Governor Barchok adding that Bomet County has been a direct beneficiary of the Japanese Government’s support, particularly within the sectors of education and health.

“Our dialogue focused on a strategic initiative to globally brand Bomet’s high-quality tea and firmly establish Kenya as a distinct origin for premium tea”, Said Governor Barchok.

Prof Barchok particularly appreciated the Ambassador’s receptive consideration for showcasing Bomet County’s premium agricultural products within prominent Japanese trading houses.

On his part, the Ambassador expressed hid optimism about the future trajectory of the cooperation, adding that he was looking forward to enhancing the enduring partnership between Bomet County and Japan.

Deputy Governor Shadrack Rotich, County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and Chief Officers (COs) were among the dignitaries who attended the talks.
