Bomet Governor, Prof. Hillary Barchok,  Wednesday announced that his  administration will offer sh 10 million as  seed capital to the main Bomet  Bodaboda Sacco to boost the sector. Speaking during the development tour in  Kipreres ward, Prof. Barchok acknowledged the contribution of the  Boda Boda sector to the vibrance of  Kenya’s economy . “To operationalize this initiative, a total  of 100 bodabodas – four per ward – will  be purchased and assigned to respective  bodaboda small saccos in each ward,where operators will borrow and plough  back the proceeds as they grow their  bases.” Nationally, the sector generates  approximately 1 Billion daily equivalent  to 3.4% of the country’s GDP.
