The County Government of Bomet

The Greatest Good for The Greatest Number

Barchok Breaks Ground For Industrial Park in Sotik

The Kshs 500M facility will be jointly funded by the national and the county government on a 50/50 basis and will be completed and ready for commissioning in the next eight months. The contractor is already on site.

Speaking during the function, Prof. Barchok noted that the project will offer employment opportunities, both skilled and unskilled, to the residents of Sotik and its environs.

“The contractor has given us his assurance that this project will be completed and ready for commissioning in the next 8 months”, added the governor.

With the construction of the facility set to begin in earnest, the governor put on notice any individual who may have encroached into the public land around the area, and indeed across the county, saying that his administration shall work with the National Government Administration Officers to repossess the same.

“This flagship project adds on to the Affordable Housing and the Modern market, projects meant to breathe new life and revive Sotik as vibrant business hub that it used to be”, said the governor.

He acknowledged the County Assembly of Bomet led by Speaker Cosmas Korir and the honourable members for their role in allocating funds for the project, in the budget.

The project will be supervised by the Department of Finance, Economic Planning and ICT.

Those who attended the event included, DG Shadrack Rotich, MCAs, CECMs, COs, NGAO officers, among others
