Lake Victoria Water Works Takes Over Itare Water Supply

The Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency (LVSWWDA) has officially taken over operations at the Itare Bulk Water Supply System in a bid to end the chronic water disconnections and enhance the supply of clean, piped water for the people of Bomet.

Governor Prof Hillary Barchok witnessed the signing of the agreement aimed at slashing supply interruptions, boost daily service delivery and modernize billing efficiency.

Backed by an agreement between the Bomet and Kericho county governments, the transition marks a major step toward reliable regional water security.

“LVSWWDA will invest KSh250 million into rehabilitating the scheme as part of the broader Kericho-Litein Water and Sanitation Project, funded by the German development bank KfW”, Said Governor Barchok.

Present during the signing of the agreement were LVSWWDA Chairman Dan Omino and CEO Jackline Kemunto, Bomet County Assembly Committee on Water Chair Rosaline Cheptoo, CECM Joseph Kirui, County Attorney John Mark Langat and Chief Officer Solomon Kimetto.
