Bomet County, Kecher Tree Planting

Bomet County, through the Department of Water, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change in partnership with Kecher Africa, conducted tree planting and mentorship program for students drawn from eight schools within Kembu and Chemaner Wards in Bomet East Subcounty.

The schools received up to 3000 assorted indigenous tree seedlings in a move to enhance tree cover as well as combat climate change effects in the county.

In an event held at St Catherine Girls’ Secondary School, the students drawn from the school, were mentored on matters education and life skills. Through department of Youth and Sports, the schools were presented with soccer balls.

Other partners in the function include Sun Rays Foundation, Access Bank, Croton Motors, Kabianga University School of Actuarial Science among others.
