Bomet County Climate Change Steering Committee, Monitoring and Evaluation Committee and Climate Change Unit workshop

Bomet County Climate Change Steering Committee, Monitoring and Evaluation Committee and Climate Change Unit workshop to review the implementation of the Financially Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) in the county.
Governor Prof Hillary Barchok, while addressing the workshop commended the strides the county has taken in combating the climate change effects in the county and called for more concerted efforts from various stakeholders towards climate change resilience. Barchok called on all the departments to streamline their programmes towards combating the climate thus maximum returns.
Key among the issues discussed include assessment of the progress and impact of ongoing FLLoCA activities, enhancing the effectiveness of monitoring and evaluation processes to track progress, identify challenges, and inform future program improvements as well as strengthening Environmental and Social safeguards measures to ensure the environmental sustainability of FLLoCA activities and minimize any potential negative impacts.
In attendance were Water Environment and Climate change County Executive Committee Member Juliah Chepkutoh, CEC Administration Justus Maina, Chief Officers Solomon Kimetto (Water and Environment) and Dr Kibet Sitienei (Agriculture), Monitoring and Evaluation Committee Members and Climate Change Unit Officers.
