The County Government of Bomet, through the Department of Lands, Housing and Urban Planning, has issued a notice on the Sectoral and Cluster Elections Program for Classified Towns and Markets – 2026.

The program aims to strengthen governance and management of towns and market centers by ensuring inclusive representation of various sectors and stakeholder groups. Through these elections, residents, traders, professionals and special interest groups will have an opportunity to participate directly in decision-making processes that shape urban development, service delivery and local economic growth.

This initiative aligns with the Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2019 and reinforces transparency, accountability and community ownership in the management of Bomet’s classified towns and markets.

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to participate actively when the program is rolled out, as strong leadership and representation are key to sustainable urban growth and orderly market management.
