The directorate of revenue collection at the county government has, this morning, held a consultative meeting to strategize on how best they can collect revenue to facilitate service delivery for the people of Bomet.
The strategy meeting, led by CO, Finance, CPA Jonah Mutai brought together Revenue Officers from the five Sub counties, compliance and enforcement officers, directors among other staff from the department.
Addressing the function that was held at the County Headquarters, CPA Mutai observed that Bomet had a huge potential in terms of revenue, challenging those given the responsibility to collect revenue to roll up their sleeves and deliver on their mandate.
“If we all discharge our duties as expected, we can be able to surpass our revenue targets and collect enough resources to awaken the sleeping giant that Bomet is, economically”, said the CO.
The CO reiterated the department’s resolution to go cashless in revenue collection, asking residents to pay all their revenues via the paybill 214444 and report anyone asking them to pay their dues using cash.
Meanwhile, CO Mutai used the opportunity to announce changes in the revenue department where he posted new Revenue Officers, Assistant Revenue Officers and also reorganized all permanent staff. Besides, the meeting set revenue targets for every staff.
