Bomet Governor prof. Hillary Barchok spent the better part of the day visiting Embomos ward of Konoin Sub County for a development tour.
Flanked by local leaders including area MCA Japhet Cheruiyot, prof. Barchok kicked off his tour by inspecting the ongoing construction of Tagarmbei bridge that is nearing completion.
Once complete, the bridge will not only ease transport in the area but will also unlock the huge business potential of the larger Konoin Sub County.
While at the site, the governor gave a commitment to the people of Konoin that he is closely monitoring the project to ensure that its completed in time and that the people get value for their money.
“I have issued clear instructions to my officers in the department of roads, transport and public works and the contractor to ensure that this bridge is built to the required standards and that it is completed in its stipulated time”, said the governor.
Thereafter, prof. Barchok and his officers from the county government made his way to Meswondo village where he commissioned the Meswondo water project that will supply water to over 2000 households across nine villages in Embomos ward, and its environs.
Governor Prof Hillary Barchok, while commissioning the project, reiterated his commitment to sustainable water solutions, highlighting the project’s crucial role in improving public health and fostering economic development in the area towards fulfilling the Governor’s manifesto pledge of ensuring access to clean water for all Bomet residents.
The project addresses a long-standing challenge for residents, promising improved health outcomes and reduced burdens associated with water collection. Its completion marks a major step towards enhancing the quality of life and fostering development within these communities.
The governor was accompanied by a host of MCAs led by area MCA Japhet Cheruiyot Marangi, CECM Roads Transport and Public Works Hon.Ambrose Koech, CECM Administration Public Service Justus Maina among others.
