The County Government of Bomet has embarked on an ambitious plan to construct 50 new ECDE classrooms across the 25 wards, this financial year.
The programme, begun in earnest following the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a modern classroom at Tirgaga ECDE Center in Tirgaga Comprehensive School, presided by Education CECM Hon. Agnes Ngeno, earlier this morning.
The roll-out of this programme will see each of the twenty five wards in Bomet get a new state-of-the-art of the art ECDE classroom in the fiscal year 2025/2026. This will also include a toilet, a water tank and furniture for each of the centres.
“This initiative is aimed at strengthening ECDE infrastructure, which currently stands at slightly over 400 classrooms out of the more than 1,200 ECDE centres spread across the 25 wards”, remarked Mrs. Ng’eno.
This underscores the county’s and Governor Prof Hillary Barchok’s commitment to expanding access to quality early childhood education and creating a conducive learning environment for our young learners.
The occasion was also graced by the area MCA Hon Josphat Kipkirui (Singorwet Ward) and the Ward Education Coordinator Madam Margret.
