A team of engineers from the Kenya Railways Cooperation and the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) contractor paid a courtesy call to the county government of Bomet this afternoon.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the beginning of the journey to extend the standard gauge railway from Narok to Bomet in a few months. The goal of this is to boost Bomet County’s infrastructure and economic growth.
According to the engineers, the 47-kilometre stretch of the SGR will tentatively have at least three stations within Bomet County.
The team was received by Deputy Governor Shadrack Rotich, who led the discussion on behalf of the County Government of Bomet.
