Farmers in Chebunyo Ward, Chepalungu Sub County had a rare opportunity, this morning, to be trained on the best farming practices to enable them make the most out of their farms. The training took place during a field day in the area, organized by the Bomet Integrated Food Security and Livelihoods Project.
Through its Agricuiture Department, the County Government of Bomet under the stewardship of Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok seeks to offer farmers the technical support they need to maximize production and reap maximum profits from their hardwork.
The event provided a valuable platform for farmers and stakeholders to exhibit their agricultural produce, share experiences and exchange knowledge on best farming techniques.
The teams also had the opportunity to tour the Nogirwet Irrigation Scheme Demonstration Farm, which serves as a key site for producing high-quality farm prodce aimed at improving agricultural productivity, sustainability, and resilience.
Facilitators for the day were drawn from the various partners working with the county government in the Agriculture Sector, which included the British Red Cross, the Kenya Red Cross, KALRO, among others.
First Lady Mrs. Selina Barchok graced the function in the company of CO Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Dr. Kibet Sitienei.
