The Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) has delivered a consignment of assorted drugs and non-pharmaceuticals ordered by the County government of Bomet for this first quarter. The delivery will help replenish pharmacies in all facilities across the county.
The first batch of the consignment worth Kshs 37.5M was delivered to the Longisa County Referral Hospital and Tegat Sub County Hospital, this morning. Other Sub County Hospitals will receive their Supplies by close of business tomorrow.
According to CO, Health Services, Felix Lang’at, other facilities including Health Centres and Dispensaries will receive their fair share of the supplies as from Monday next week, through last mile deliveries.
“We are going to ensure that by the time KEMSA is done delivering these supplies, each abd every facility will have received the drugs and other stuff”, said the CO.
The CO also added that Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok was keen on ensuring that health facilities don’t run out of drugs and that he was doing his best to make sure that there is a steady supply of the same from KEMSA, throughout the year.
Recently, the governor had a consultative meeting with senior officials from KEMSA who had paid a courtesy call to his office, with a view to streamlining the issue of drug and non-pharmaceuticals supplies to Bomet County, going forward
