The County Government of Bomet has procured a consignment of assorted drugs and non-pharmaceuticals to replenish its pharmacies at the Longisa County Referral Hospital, five Sub County Hospitals, Health centres and all dispensaries across the county.
The first batch of the total order, worth Kshs 41M that the department of Health Services placed with KEMSA was delivered at the Longisa County Referral Hospital, this morning.
Further distribution to all other facilities by KEMSA will be done immediately to help in ensuring better and quality services are rendered to all patients seeking treatment services at all the health facilities.
While receiving the quarterly consignment, Health Services CECM Dr. Joseph Sitonik said that his department was committed to ensuring that it maintains a steady supply of the essential commodities all year round.
“Under the stewardship of Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok, We are committed to delivering universal health coverage to the people of Bomet and we will ensure that our facilities don’t run out of drugs, at all times”, Said Dr. Sitonik.
He was flanked by Director Health Services, Dr Benard Sawek and County Pharmacist Dr Mathew Yegon who oversaw the offloading and verification of the medical products.
