KEMSA delivers second batch of drugs

The second batch of the order that the Bomet County government placed with KEMSA for this quarter, both pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals, was delivered at the County this morning. The same was received at the Bomet Green Stadium for sorting and onward distribution to all our facilities through last mile delivery by the agency.

Addressing the press while receiving the consignment, CO Health Services Felix Lang’at assured Bomet residents that by close of business this evening, 20 facilities in Bomet East Sub County, 34 in Chepalungu, 27 in Konoin, 27 in Bomet Central and 38 in Sotik would have received their orders. All the Sub County facilities received their orders last week.

Meanwhile, the CGoB has urged members of the public to continue registering for the new Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), that replaces the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) as from today. In this regard, the health services department has stationed a CHP in every health facility across the county to help the people with the registration.

But even as the switch to SHIF happens, Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok has assured residents that the provision of health services in all county facilities continues, uninterrupted.

Yesterday, the CGoB entered into a contract with the Social Health Authority (SHA) for the provision of healthcare services to the SHA beneficiaries, in all the health facilities in Bomet county.
