Wananchi Laud Construction Of A Bridge In Siongiroi

Residents of Chelelach/Kaptwolo villages and the entire Siongiroi ward are a happy lot following a move by the department of roads, transport and Public works in the county government of Bomet to construct a box culvert that will ease transport and movement of goods and people in the area.

The project, supervised closely by engineers from the department is currently currently at over 50% complete. As of today, the contractor is doing Steel binding works and is on course to delivering the project within the stipulated time.

According to the CO Roads, Transport and Public works, Issa Yarrow, the department is closely monitiring the project to ensure that it not only conforms to the required standards but also ensure that wananchi get value for money once the project is complete.

“We have deployed our officers to the ground to make sure that the contractor delivers quality work for the people of Siongiroi ward and the larger Chepalungu Sub County”, Mr Yarrow said.

Upon completion, the all-season project will not only facilitate faster and hassle-free movement of goods and services but will also open up the area for businesses to thrive, thus boosting the local economy.

This project is part of the many others being implemented by Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok’s administration across the 25 wards and is a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to ease mobility and facilitate growth of businesses in Bomet County.
